Unsexed Sling
Typhochlaena is an absolutely stunning dwarf species in the Aviculariianae sub familly of tarantula, meaning care is similar to that of species in the Avicularia, Carribena, Ybyrapora, etc. genera. But not exactly the same. One of the facinating features of this spider (looking past those crazy colors) is that they are an arboreal TRAP DOOR creating species. So they specifically need the building materials to create that hidden retreat in order to settle well and be happy, healthy spiders. These materials are a piece of cork bark with lots of good nooks and crannies attached near the top of the enclosure, as well as some shredded moss, lichen, and small pieces of cork that can be carried by the spider to build it's door with.
They are also physically built a bit differently in shape and are clumsier than most arboreals, so care must be taken, and personally we would advise against using water dishes specifically for this species and instead rely on regular LIGHT misting of water so the slings can have drinking opportunities.
