Unsexed Juvenile
A hobby favorite for the black and red coloration which is usually visible, and the very easy care and generally hardy health. Formerly Brachypelma, Tliltocatle vagans is a species of terrestrial tarantula originating from Mexico. While we like to periodically wet a small area of the enclosure's substrate, vagans tend to do very well even when kept on perpetually dry substrate with a water dish (for slings we recommend AGAINST keeping totally arid). Generally not terribly secretive or reclusive, you will likely see juveniles-adults very often. With slow-moderate growth rates, it can take a while to have a big beauty if starting from a sling, but the end result is well worth any wait. As for appetite, they have the good NW terrestrial feeding response that we all appreciate on feeding days.
