S. calceatum is an arboreal species from Africa, and is definitely at or near the top of the list for species to be careful around. With a reportedly very unpleasant venom, these spiders are the quickest to a threat pose of all the tarantulas I've worked with. Almost without fail, any time I've needed to interact for a rehouse or often just feeding/watering, if the spider is not already hidden, it will rear up a threat pose and often start slapping the ground. Not recommended for the average beginner, as you will want to be pretty comfortable around tarantulas before having to work with something so fast and short tempered.
